Nanhe Panchhi Foundation was set up on the fundamentals of equal opportunities for all children and on the values of growth, compassion and love. We are established in Hanumangarh, Rajasthan and our work is in the most deprived sections in the slums.
We are a community of 70+ volunteers in different sectors, such as teaching, social media, fundraising, management and others. We are learning and continuing to grow together.
Project: Nurturing a champion
We are all aware of the educational inequality in India but at Nanhe Panchhi Foundation we have attempted to address this gap by the admission of 15+ students in private schools using the RTE scheme and by crowdfunding for their school fees, uniform, shoes and books. We also supported admissions to government schools of 100 kids. We work with them on their foundational literacy and numeracy skills as well as assist them with their school work to help them progress.
We do a range of activities with our students on Saturdays like Yoga, painting, sports, poem recitation and dance classes etc.
We also offer stitching classes to women who are mostly mothers of our students. The objective is to make them self-reliant and to build a community of trust. It is about giving them a platform to discuss their problems and we try to assist them in whichever way possible. We also have done many menstrual hygiene workshops with them by collaborating with different organisations and doctors.
We did vaccination drives for awareness and knowledge regarding vaccines to tackle hesitancy and provided support for transportation to the centres. Also, we raised funds to do food drives to help them survive in the difficult times which was identified as the need.
Thanks for the amazing contribution to the society, truly found it worth having them to take care of the kids in my area.
